The Dominica citizenship by investment Program was introduced in 1991 and since then has successfully granted Dominica citizenship to a number of applicants. Legislation for the citizenship program has been revised many times, making it one of the best economic citizenship programs. In order to apply to the government of Dominica for citizenship, the correct procedures must be followed and accompanying this, a list of documents to be filled. Listed below are the documents required to apply for Dominica economic citizenship.
- A type 12 application form must be completed by all applicants including children. Parents or guardians applying for minors under the age of sixteen (16) must sign the form on behalf of the child or children. To be complete the type 12 form must be notarized before submission. Each applicant must submit two type 12 forms.
- Birth Certificates must be submitted by all applicants.
- A marriage certificate must be submitted by married persons and where necessary dissolution of marriage has to be shown.
- The applicant or in the case of a family the head of the family has to write a letter to the Minister by the order of the President is able to grant citizenship.
- All application forms must be accompanied by two (2) personal testimonies for adults and children over 18. A short subsection of each testimony should be about the writer or referee. The referee should have known the applicant for at least five years.
- The applicant must submit a professional reference by someone with whom he or she has work with for a minimum of three years.
A Police certificate of character has to be presented showing the absence of criminal record. This is required for all applicants sixteen years and older. Police records from the applicant’s country of birth and should that person reside in a different country a police record from this country is also required.
The applicant must submit a recommendation from a banker.
A total of eight (8) passport sized photos must be submitted. Each photo has to be certified.
- Certified copies of current passport have to be presented.
- Applicants must provide a detailed resume of their education including certified copies of diplomas.
- It is recommended that for children of school age or attending university a recommendation letter from the school be submitted.
- Adult applicants who are employed must present a job letter.
- A detailed account of business accompanied by a financial statement is required for business owners.
- All applicants over the age of 16 must sign a Disclosure Form.
- A Medical Certificate and HIV test must be submitted.
Once the necessary documents have been submitted the applicant will be notified through his or her agent as to the other steps to be taken to complete the programme.
